Description

These prestigious annual awards recognize chemical technologies that incorporate the principles of green chemistry into chemical design, manufacture, and use.

The awards are sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention in partnership with the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute (ACS GCI) and other members of the chemical community.

  • Peter J. Dunn Award for Green Chemistry & Engineering Impact in the Pharmaceutical Industry Presented by the ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable, this award recognizes excellence in the research, development, and execution of green chemistry that demonstrates environmental, safety, and efficiency improvements.

  • Kenneth G. Hancock Memorial Award Providing national recognition and honor for outstanding student contributions to furthering the goals of green chemistry through research and/or studies.

  • Rising Stars in Green Chemistry Education Award There are two annual awards: one designated for a scholar teaching in the U.S. and the other for an international scholar teaching at an institution outside the U.S. Each award will consist of a certificate, $1,000 honorarium, and travel support for the awardee and one student (up to $2,000 each) to attend the annual Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference to receive the award and present their work.
